John Gregor’s musical WITH GLEE (Book, Music and Lyrics) opened Off-Broadway at the Kirk Theatre to an extended run presented by Prospect Theater Company. WITH GLEE is the recipient of a Loewe family Award reading and premiered at the New York Musical Theater Festival.

He is also composer and lyricist of PINKALICIOUS THE MUSICAL, based on the book by Elizabeth and Victoria Kann, now in its 18th year Off-Broadway and produced across the world.

 

His musical adaptation of Gogol’s tragicomic short story THE OVERCOAT (Book and Lyrics) has been presented in London at the Bridewell Theatre, Barrington Stage Company and The New York International Fringe Festival.

An accomplished writer of musicals for young audiences, John has collaborated on THE BULLY and THE CHANGELING for Vital Theatre, NY and THE INVENTION OF EDISON at Pittsburgh Civic Light Opera. 

John lives in New York and holds an MFA in musical theatre writing from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts and a degree in musical theatre from Emerson College. He is represented by Susan Gurman Agency.

In addition, John serves as Junior Vice Commander of Oliver Tilden Camp #26 (Chartered 1884), Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War, where he helps organize the annual Ulysses S. Grant commemoration at Grant’s Tomb in New York City and edits the camp’s publication, Billy Yank. He is also a member of  Sons of Veterans Reserve · Co. I, 83 New York Vol. (9th NYSM) and the Sons of the Revolution.
